OUR MISSION
What are our goals?
- To provide opportunities for children to develop life and leadership skills using sports as a platform for learning.
- To provide opportunities for “vulnerable” children to develop athletic, social, personal, and life-coping skills that will increase the likelihood of a successful school experience.
- To provide opportunities for children and their families to strengthen their resilience through training and learning experiences.
- To provide training opportunities in the area of personal and professional development in collaboration with other organizations.
- To partner with families and communities to identify community needs and support community development initiatives such as workforce training and affordable housing.
- To provide administrative support and consultative services to small groups and non-profit organizations with similar goals.
How we work?
We are a mission-focused organization dedicated to serving children, families, and their communities. The Baher Foundation is a 501c3 tax exempt organization. Our programs are supported by tax-deductible contributions, grants, and fees. The Board of Directors and staff are volunteers. We welcome community and workplace volunteers to help us carry out the mission.
What we do?
We support and partner with organizations, i.e., educational institutions, recreation departments, and other non-profit organizations, to deliver skill building training for lacrosse and basketball to youth. We offer Fun-damental Lacrosse and/or Basketball camps to underserved children. We teach basic skills through playing in a fun-low competitive environment.
We collaborate and support community development initiatives such as affordable housing in underserved communities. Through our partnerships, we offer workforce development training, career coaching, and job placement guidance. For teens, we offer an eight-week personal development program. For families, we offer workshops and activities on building family resilience and financial literacy.
